I remember Dean, his brother and sister from when we were kids. He was kind of a dorky kid growing up but always kind with a great laugh. He changed high schools and I was fortunate enough to have flunked a math class in high school that required that I take a night class.
Dean was in my class with me. I remember thinking he's just like a butterfly... He's has grown to become really hot! We laughed like kids through that class and reconnected our childhood friendship. Fortunately we both passed the class and graduated high school.
I didn't know him as well as I would have liked but always considered him a pretty good guy. Don Earle and I attended his funeral in West Salem after his fatal car accident. It was a beautiful graveside service but very emotional. I stopped by his grave a few years later to pay my respects. I ran into his brother about a year ago and he says all the Stanleys are fine but they still miss Dean.

He was a doll, inside and out!
